Freegans in New York

With over 245 million tons of waste produced every year in America, Freegans in NYC are seeking to lessen the waste by recuperating consumable food from trash thrown out by supermarkets and specialty shops throughout the city. Whole grain bread, organic salad, fruits and vegetables, all perfectly edible, are examples of products the Freegan Trash Tour may find on any given night.
